Nature's Glory.

Despite the severe fire that raged through our property this year, nature has a way of dealing with the damage. Trees have started to show new green leaves again, grass has sprung up in bare patches, and wild flowers appear magically once more.
While walking the dogs through our bottom untamed acre I came across some new wild flowers.
These delicate lily-type pale yellow beauties looked so fragile amongst the burnt undergrowth.
I can't wait to see what nature brings each morning on my rounds.

This fuschia plant is growing in a large tub and has over seventy flowers/buds. Its just so amazing to see nature at its best.

Nature's Garden

Don't you just love it when nature makes its own garden! Our garden is almost all nature- made on account of the solid rock we have. For years I tried to create my own version of a garden and in the end let nature have its way. I am so happy I did as its always a surprise in the mornings when I walk around the garden, one never knows what new things one will see, and the birds think so too!
This morning I took some photos to share with you of our nature's garden.

A delicate maidenhair fern growing on the old stone steps.

A secret pathway amongst the wild salvia, a pathway that is often a playground for the dogs.

A hanging basket nest left for us to enjoy by one of the many birds.

A fallen nest displayed artistically on a wooden potting shelf.

A delightfully pink delicate flower with many buds soon to open.
Isn't nature wonderful!

Ducks of Nature

Yesterday on one of my meanders i found these gorgeous and unusual ducks, made totally from a natural tree root. The body (skirt ) of each duck are the fibrous roots and the neck and head have been carved out of the wood. Its all in one piece up to the neck which has been joined on and as each fibrous root is different so each duck is unique.
